It was a winter snowstorm several years ago that nearly ripped the Bush House Inn’s wrap-around porch right off the historic building. Ironically, it is a similar scene in Index, Washington this week as we begin construction on the new front porch – one that can certainly endure the beautiful and unpredictable winters of the Cascade Mountains.
The new porch is currently under construction and has been designed to recreate the look and function of the original. It provides a beautiful entrance to the Inn and Restaurant, while also creating a space for locals and guests to sit and enjoy fun conversations and amazing scenery. We can’t wait to set out a few benches and rocking chairs!
Once complete, the covered porch will wrap around most of the building, and give it the familiar appearance that we all remember. We are looking forward to enjoying it with you!
